Age of Empires III – The Review

Age of Empire III is an excellent addition to the newer games on strategy and battle field. We will talk about what this game has to offer to its audience and what are the expectations tied to it in terms of audience. The first and a genuine demand of the gamers were to include a lot of newer ages to the game. The earlier games weren’t representing any of the current ages at all. No matter how hard you would have tried, you couldn’t get beyond that old medieval look of forts and old style army units. Well the reaction amongst the audience has been a mixed one. The game hookers didn’t see much of a difference in the over all layout or speed of the game, while the casual and amateur game players enjoyed the newer editions made to the game. There are a lot of new campaigns and levels added to the game. There are different colonies each representing different nations (regular players would already know) like Europeans, Ottomans, British, Russians and many others. To differentiate amongst the nations there have been different strengths assigned to each of the different nations. One is extremely good at one thing, but lacks power in other fields. While the other might have strength that no one has. This makes the game evenly poised amongst the selection of any of the nations available in the game play.

The thing that I liked the most about the game was the depth in which it covered the different eras. Though some of you might argue that it already has got enough depth, but the added modern eras into the game even make it more adventurous to start with dark age and then go into the modern ages. The graphics are excellent; especially you can zoom in a bit more. This gives much realistic touch to the play and you can zoom to each of your individual villager to see if he or she is doing any thing or just standing there without any work. One other special thing to be noted is the additional touch of realism added to the scenes of destruction. Take the example of the enemy ship you wrecked through your own war ship, a spectacle of effects added. Lastly, the making of new villagers or training your army has become faster, reducing the boredom of waiting. This also gives you extra edge of creating extra troops in emergency, when you have an urgent threat to deal with. All in all it is a very good game slightly falling under the expectations of its fans but still a very lovable game to play.
